![]() You can basically command your squad to follow the leader or stay. All of that fancy team stuff above sounds cool, but it was pretty tricky to do in single-player mode. In the single-player mode, you are in control of all four members of your unit, which due to some funky AI and a fairly steep learning curve for newbies, makes things a bit harder than they should be. I had my heavy weapons guy pop a smoke grenade - which is improved over the previous game's attempt - and my demo guy bugged out under the cover of the smoke, blowing the C4 (and the tank) once he had gotten a safe distance away. My demolition expert flanked it and laid some C4 near it. I used my sniper to get its attention, ducking down before it blasted me into small pieces. For example, there is a mission with a tank in the middle of valley. You will have to use all of their skills to get through most missions. Your squad consists of an assault-rifle wielding team-leader, a sniper, a demolitions expert, and a heavy-weapons operator. ![]() The game starts with you controlling either a squad of American Special Forces operators or British SAS personnel. But the sheer fun of the sitting-on-the-couch-with-a-buddy gameplay more than makes up for those problems. The game suffers from drab graphics, sports an uneven and occasionally frustrating single-player mode, and has a general lack of polish. Unfortunately, it is still far from perfect. ![]() Quite simply, this is one of the best multiplayer games I have played in quite a while. There are plenty of tactical shooters on the PS2, but few of them offer much in the way of a multiplayer experience. ![]()
